ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECTIVES

More than ever, what we as custodians of the Countryside do, is vitally important.

We are in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, and this in turn will transition into the Environmental Land Management Schemes (ELMS) where pilot schemes are underway.

We as a business are currently working closely with companies forging a way into sustainable farming.  Key elements taken from the ELMS narrative to consider in all new projects and the day-to-day planning are

  • Clean Air

  • Clean and Plentiful Water

  • Thriving Plants and Wildlife

  • Protection from Environmental Hazards

  • Beauty, Heritage and Engagement with the Environment

  • Reduction of and Adaptation to Climate Change

We recognise that achieving sustainability in agriculture is not a short-term process or even one with a defined end point. So, our ongoing aim is for better practices which ultimately protect natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
