WHO WE ARE

Rachel and Maureen Scholes

Mum (Maureen) retired and Rachel, running the business.

We are not the biggest farming business, but we do our job well, with care and consideration, at the same time, remaining economically and socially responsible.

With regards to machinery, we operate modern, well maintained equipment and Fimber Nab farm hosts excellent workshop facilities.
We believe in the importance of technology, telemetry, guidance and mapping systems. All are used across the business to both track yields, help deliver accuracy of crop inputs and improve efficiencies.
We are able to apply nutrition variably on all crops. Both the crop and as importantly the soil benefit from the application of a high-grade compost and digestates, which not only add nutrition, but improve soil structure and organic matter.

We are firm believers that you should put back into the land what you take from it.
We work with a wide range of soil types and consider ourselves adequately equipped to deal with a variety of situations and opportunities when they occur.
J S Scholes are full members of the Red Tractor Scheme and Leaf Marque. We are members of Countryside Stewardship Scheme and have drilled hectares of nectar and wild bird mixes across our farms to encourage further flora and fauna and the wildlife it brings.
