OUR HISTORY

When John Stuart Scholes (Dad) the handsome bloke in the picture, set up the original partnership on the glorious Yorkshire Wolds, back in the early 60’s, he knew that 3 things mattered – respect, hard graft and an open ear!

The business started at Crufts Farm, Garton on the Wolds and then onto Railton Farm in the same village.  In 1979 John secured the tenancy of Fimber Nab Farm, which forms part of the Sledmere Estate. The farm and the house were in serious need of updating.   With the help of a digger, a lot of time and probably as much money, Fimber Nab transformed into a family home and the modern farmstead it is today.

The farm has undergone change in the past and has adapted as the agricultural world has changed.  The business is growing, and we always keep the core fundamentals of agriculture and the words of JS at the heart of all decisions.
